The first robbery occurred around 1:15 a.m. at Aces Casino on the 1300 block of Cliff Avenue, police spokesman Sam Clemens said. Another robbery was reported around 1:45 a.m. at the Crown Casino on the 1900 block of South Sycamore Avenue.
Two men entered the Aces Casino building and one approached an employee with a gun and demanded money from the register, while the other stood by the door, Clemens said.

The employee was able to get to a back door and lock himself in the room. Both men were wearing dark clothing and masks. No losses were reported, Clemens said.
At Crown Casino, one of the men approached the register and demanded money while the other stood by the door, Clemens said. The employees complied and gave them the money and the two men left.
The robberies are believed to be connected, Clemens said. Police do not have a detailed description of the suspects to release to the public.
