Baked Clams Casino Dip Recipe

In a large bowl, combine the clams and remaining ingredients; stir in the reserved clam juice. For Clams Casino Dip, we use both the minced clams andsome of the juices from the can. The juices help to infuse the dip with more flavor and they also thin the mixture to become easily dippable. You can’t make a dip with clams alone, of course.

Clams Casino Dip

Ingredients:
  • 4 cans minced or chopped clams packed in clam juice (be careful, not all are packed in juice)
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 small sweet onion, chopped
  • 8 ounces bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 sleeve RITZ crackers, crushed
  • 1 small green bell pepper, chopped


  • Method:
  • Drain two cans clams, reserving juice.
  • Drain second two cans of clams and discard juice or save for another use.
  • In skillet, saute onion, green pepper and celery in butter until softened.
  • Combine with remaining ingredients including reserved clam juice.
  • Spoon into shallow casserole.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes or until browned and bubbly.
  • Serve with crackers.

    This clams casino dip with bacon has always been the dish I bring to a friend’s house or a tailgate party. It’s a take on the traditional clams casino my mother would make when we had an abundance of clams.

    For this recipe I substituted canned clams to bring down the cost. You may use fresh clams but I have found there isn’t a difference in taste. This recipe is easy to make, is served in the dish in which it was baked or it can be fancied by serving them in individual clam shells.
